Tanssi Aims to Bridge the Gap Between Developers and the Appchain Development Ecosystem With Its Infrastructure Protocol
Tortola, BVI – May 23, 2023 – Moondance Labs, the company developing the Tanssi appchain infrastructure protocol, is excited to announce the successful completion of a $3 million seed funding round. The round was led by Arrington Capital, a leading digital asset management firm primarily focused on blockchain-based capital markets, with participation from noted investors, including Borderless Capital, Fenbushi, HashKey Capital, D1 Ventures, Hypersphere, C² Ventures, and Jsquare.

The funds will be directed towards fueling the development of the Tanssi network, an appchain infrastructure protocol that offers permissionless infrastructure tools and services, making appchain deployment secure, efficient, and developer-friendly. Additionally, the Tanssi protocol benefits from the added advantages of shared security and native interoperability from the Polkadot relay chain.

The Tanssi protocol is currently being developed by the Moondance Labs team, a group teeming with seasoned professionals from the blockchain industry. Leading the team is Francisco Agosti, who played a key role in the development of Moonbeam's ecosystem. Working alongside him are Gorka Irazoqui and Katherine Quilca, who were integral to Moonbeam's expansion. Gorka championed numerous critical XCM initiatives, while Katherine led significant efforts to expand the Moonbeam community. As original contributors to the Moonbeam project, they're now applying their collective experience to the Tanssi Network, addressing a critical issue to broaden the Polkadot ecosystem to a wider group of developers.
Prominent projects within the Web3 space have joined Tanssi’s early ecosystem:
RMRK, an NFT protocol that offers creators a vast array of building blocks for extensive customization, such as nestable and multi-resource NFTs.
Kawa, a native cross-chain lending and borrowing protocol.
Zenlink, a cross-chain DEX protocol that will provide an AMM module for DeFi builders to use on Tanssi.

Looking forward, Moondance Labs has key milestones on the horizon for Tanssi. The Test Network launch is anticipated later this year, with the mainnet set to go live by 2024.
